Orange is hot. It’s the sun, it’s a traffic cone, it’s the color that I wear almost as much as red on my lips. When I spied this purse in bright red- orange with sizeable gold spikes from Deux Lux I had an instant hand bag crush. I had already styled three outfits in my head before I had gotten to the register and taken out my bank card. It was one of those, “This isn’t even a QUESTION” purchases that in all honestly can be a problem for some shoppers. It’s called rationalizing, and some of us are better than others at it. But this bag was on sale (Rationalizing??) and so, now it lives here. We haven’t really been away for each other since I got it a few weeks ago except during workouts and a black tie event. This is a very similar one here.
I already have the range of statement lipsticks to go with this purse, and I find that matching my lips to my purse is the simplest way to chic-up and ensemble quickly. From my extensive experience in this department I can report that people approach me all the time as if they are alerting ME that my bag and lips match perfectly, I nod and say thank you. Statement accomplished. This is especially true of very basic outfits.
My lips here are Make Up Forever Intense Rouge #40. I’ve written about if before, It’s a lipstick that has no season. But along with the olive green, drapey knit sweater and Prairie Underground black skinny corset jeans and Zara suede heels, the orange gives the dark, fall utilitarian outfit a feminine dash of fancy.
Every single day I carry this purse someone tells me or shouts down a block that “they LOVE it!” or that “it makes them happy.” This is my current rationalization for why I should have bought two of them. I don’t want the happiness to end.
Scroll down for pictures and details. There are quite a few, because its me, and because these are my favorite jeans.
